As the use of cigarette mounted, its wastes i.e. butt and ash was the problem to manage. If it supposed to be thrown here and there it plays a bit in pollution and of course in decreasing the beauty of the surrounding.

Ash can or ash tray was designed for the same so that ashes and butts can be kept on the table while smoking inside the room. Sometimes wall mounted ash can is fixed at the side of stairs in a building though smoking is banned at public places.

Ash can is also part of the cars because it is fitted to doors from inside.
